The Touring Car Championship is the league's Touring car series. It is heavily orientated towards TCR's series concept and thus mirrors the usual TCR championships and weekend schedules, which contains a 10 minute Qualifying, followed by two 20-minute races. As it's the pinnacle of IVRC it will be held every Saturday of a IVRC TCC meeting.

The series features the closest competition of the IVRC. Only the best will succeed in the Touring Car Championship!

History

Touring Car Championship (2018–present):

The foundation of the IVRC included several bids and thoughts about the series to go for, ranging from open-wheeler series over multi-class racing to touring cars. However, in late January 2018, the decision was made towards a TCR-inspired series. The series was a huge initial success, despite competing with various other leagues. IVRC looks forward to keep the momentum and improve even further in 2019.

Placeholder won the driver's championship, while MPG Competition secured the inaugural team's championship.

Race weekend

On Saturdays, drivers have a 10-minute qualifying session. The qualifying session decides the grid order for race one, run over a time of 20 minutes. After a short break, the same procedure repeats for race two, which covers the same distance.

Point system

Both races will be run with a scoring system similar to the one used in Formula One:

Point system
 1st   2nd   3rd   4th   5th   6th   7th   8th   9th   10th
25 18 15 12 10 8 6 4 2 1

The maximum number of points a driver can score at any round will be 50.

  • Each driver has to drive 80% of race distance to be eligible for points.
