Matthew Allington (born 28 January 1997) is a British sim racer, currently competing for YTF1 Sim-racing Team in the IVRC Touring Car Championship.
Early sim racing career
Matthew started his sim-racing career at the Gentlemen's Racing Club, shortly before the league folded in 2013. Afterwards, Matthew started racing and managing his team, YTF1 at the Grand Prix Virtual World Championship (GPVWC), where he continues to be active to this day.
Allington has occasionally driven in other leagues, usually where rallying is involved, but has also won a small Hillclimbing championship.
Touring Car Championship
With the beginning of IVRC, Matthew joined the Touring Car Championship for its debut season in 2018. Initially entering an Audi TT Cup in time for the Brands Hatch round, Allington took pole position and won on debut. Allington scored further podiums at Donnington Park and the Nürburgring, but opted to switch to the Honda Civic after a poor Hungaroring round. The new car yielded strong results, with 2nd place in the new car's first race (at Imola) followed by Allington's 2nd win of the season at Road Atlanta and pole positions at Laguna Seca and Bathurst.
In the 2019-1 season, Allington was only able to participate in 4 round2, but achieved notable success with 2 pole positions (at the Nurburgring and Bathurst) and five victories (two at the Nurburgring and 1 each at the Red Bull Ring, Suzuka and Bathurst) from 12 races entered.
Porsche Supercup
Allington would enter the 2019 Porsche Supercup season, again driving for YTF1
Winter Series
For the first Winter Series, a Formula E championship, Allington participated with YTF1 in a Jaguar-powered car. He took victory in the 1st round of the championship.
Bathurst 200
For the first edition of the IVRC Bathurst 200 race Allington participated with his own team, YTF1. The event was a success for Allington, who achieved a 'clean sweep' of pole position, fastest lap and the race victory.
F3 World Cup
For the first edition of the IVRC F3 World Cup, Allington participated with YTF1 in a TODA-powered Dallara F312.
